Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 September 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SMRT Slides website, applications and services (the "Service"), provided by Riley Rogers ("we", "us" or "our"), trading as SMRT Slides.

By creating an account, subscribing or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. The Service

SMRT Slides is a cloud-based presentation management platform. The Service allows you and your team to upload PowerPoint decks or Google Slides presentations downloaded as .pptx, make every slide searchable, assemble new decks from approved content, and export to PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF. Exported .pptx files can be opened in Google Slides; formatting may change on import. Some paid plans also include AI-assisted slide sequencing.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and, if representing a business, have authority to enter into these Terms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Using the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Uploading or sharing content that infringes intellectual property rights or other rights.
  • Distributing spam, malware, viruses or other harmful code.
  • Attempting to interfere with, disrupt, probe, scrape or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling any part of the Service.
  • Circumventing plan limits, security measures or access controls.
  • Impersonating others or misrepresenting your identity or affiliation.

5. Intellectual property

We retain all ownership and intellectual property rights in the Service, including software, documentation, designs, branding and underlying technology. You retain all ownership rights in the content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, display and transmit Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.

6. License to use the Service

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business or personal purposes, within the limits of your selected plan.

7. Payment and subscriptions

Fees are shown on our Pricing page and charged according to the plan and billing period you select. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payments, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are handled by Paddle. Please review Paddle's Buyer Terms and Paddle's Refund Policy for full details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. Upgrades may take effect immediately; downgrades typically take effect at the start of the next billing period.

8. AI features

SMRT Assist AI suggests slide sequencing based on the slides you select and the brief you provide. You are responsible for your prompts, the accuracy of outputs, and how you use them. AI outputs may not always be accurate or suitable for regulated professional advice without human review. You must have the right to use any content you upload, and we do not claim ownership of AI-generated outputs.

You may not use AI features to generate unlawful content, deepfakes, hate speech, malware, or content that infringes the rights of others. We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access to AI features for misuse.

9. Content moderation and takedowns

We may remove or restrict access to content that violates these Terms, infringes intellectual property rights, or is otherwise unlawful or harmful. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, please contact us at hello@smrtslides.com. Repeated infringement may result in account suspension or termination.

10. Service level and warranties

We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability. We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, data or goodwill, except where liability cannot be excluded by law (such as fraud, death or personal injury).

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Riley Rogers from any claims, damages or expenses arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay fees when due, pose a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our policies. Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ends. You may request an export of Your Content within 30 days of termination; after that, we may delete it in accordance with our data retention practices.

14. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in Delaware, unless prohibited by your local law.

16. Assignment and force majeure

You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither party will be liable for failure to perform due to causes beyond its reasonable control.
